Life at The Keep changes for ever in 1957 when Fliss, Mole and Susanna arrive to live with their grandmother after being orphaned in Kenya.

The three siblings are now leaving Cornwall to lead their own lives, but Freddy feels that she must always have 'The Keep' ready should they ever need to return.

Nearly thirty years after the Chadwick children first arrived to live with their grandmother, her house, now run by Fliss, remains a sanctuary for the whole family.
